January 22, 2013.

My son Jeffrey is 4 now. I took him to day care this AM and he had some good ones.

It was cold this morning when he was getting ready, so he decided he needed to wear two pair of socks. Kids, like adults, have whims and often its OK to go with them.

However, half way to day care (school) Jeffrey started taking off his extra socks---leaving me to put his shoes on--again. This is a skill he has yet to master.

I asked him why he was taking one pair of socks off and he said: "Well, I thought it was a good idea. But it wasn't."

This was all the information he gave me. Maybe his feet were too hot. Maybe his shoes were too tight. Either way, he learned that sometimes our good ideas are not really good ideas. Adults should know all about that.

I hope your ideas today are good ones. And I hope if they turn out not to be that you don't beat yourself up about it. This is how we learn. If you have children I hope you enjoy them as much as I enjoy mine. Have a blessed day.
